Employee Engagement Course Description The Art and Science of Engagement: Linking Engagement to Outcomes Every agency wants employees to be engaged in their work.  What determines if employees will “give their all?”  Employees feel engaged when they find personal meaning and motivation in their work, receive positive interpersonal support, and operate in an efficient work environment. Employees are engaged by Managers who inspire confidence in the future, recognize employees’ contributions, and believe quality and improvement are priorities Challenging, exciting work and the opportunity to learn new things and to improve their skills Organizations that demonstrate a genuine commitment to employees and to mission achievement Recruiting and retention efforts targeting inclusion, respect, affirmative employment, succession management, mentoring and coaching and training I. Course Objectives During this course, participants learn: Importance of the Manager/Employee relationship Power of engagement to motivate and inspire employees Extent to which discretionary effort contributes to mission achievement Relationship between engagement and talent retention Ability of managers to influence employee engagement through conversations that count Value and process of targeted recognition I. Suggested Audience This class is oriented to supervisors, managers and executives to effectively engage their teams.  This highly interactive course provides learners with education about employee engagement and its relationship to success in the workplace, financial performance and employee outcomes such as retention and attraction.
